City & Guilds offer:

  • 2391-50 Initial Verification and Certification Course (replaces 2394-01)
    • This course is ideal for those that only intend to certificate new installation work via an Electrical Installation Certificate or Minor Works Certificate. For those that intend to complete a Condition Report on existing properties, the 2391-52 should be considered.
  • 2391-51 Periodic Inspection, Testing and Reporting (replaces 2395-01)
    • This course is ideal for those with a focus on testing existing properties and will need to complete an Electrical Installation Condition Report on existing properties. The 2391-52 should be considered if you will need to provide a certificate for new installations.
    • The above two courses are ideal for: Electricians looking to improve their career prospects and those working towards ‘Qualified Supervisor’ status and/or ‘Approved Electrician’ JIB grading. The course is also ideal for Electricians and Domestic Installers that wish to improve their knowledge and application of inspection and testing.

  • 2391-52 Initial Verification, Periodic Inspection, Testing and Reporting - Combined Course (replaces 2394-01 / 2395-01 combined course)
    • The above course is ideal for: Electricians and Domestic Installers that wish to improve their knowledge and application of inspection and testing. Electricians looking to improve their career prospects and those working towards ‘Qualified Supervisor’ status should also consider this course. If you aim to apply for  ‘Approved Electrician’ grading with the JIB you will need to achieve 2391-52 (Combined Initial and Periodic)
