Megger 1017401 CI/LCI-440 Cable Identification Set – For De-energised and Live Cables
The Megger CI/LCI-440 Complete Set combines dedicated transmitters for identifying de-energised and energised power cables. The CI TX-2 is designed for de-energised cable identification, while the LCI TX-2 supports live cable identification with an operating range of 100–440 V AC at 50/60 Hz.
Both transmitters work with the CI RX receiver and a compatible flexible clamp to help identify the required cable. Defined current pulses produce an electromagnetic field around the connected cable, which the receiver detects and displays on an LED indicator scale.
The receiver evaluates pulse shape, polarity, amplitude and timing to distinguish the identification signal from interference. Adjustable sensitivity helps the operator assess the displayed signal, while compact instrument housings and a transport case make the set convenient to move between sites.
- Identification on de-energised cables: the CI TX-2 delivers current pulses with a peak of up to 100 A.
- Identification on live cables: the LCI TX-2 operates at 100–440 V AC and delivers an 80 A pulse current.
- Regular identification pulses: both transmitters produce 30 pulses per minute.
- Mains or battery operation for the CI TX-2: operates from a 100–240 V AC supply or a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, with a specified battery operating time of 4 hours.
- Adjustable receiver sensitivity: gain from 3 to 24 dB in 10 steps.
- Long receiver operating time: the CI RX provides more than 50 hours of operation from two 1.5 V AA batteries.
- IP54 protection: both transmitters and the receiver are rated IP54, with an operating temperature range of −10 °C to +60 °C.
