Handy pocket sized clamp meter
5

I was first introduced to the Martindale Clamp Meter about 10 years ago and it was a vital piece of equipment to record live load readings whilst I was carrying out fire risk assessments within care homes.

Unlike perhaps some of the larger, more comprehensive models on the market, the Martindale CM51 is small enough to wrap around tails by meters, cables situated in trunking, as well as cables within fuse boards. This is great for quickly checking loads and handy to have when fault finding and surveying for installing new power supplies to submains.

I would highly recommend this particular model for any electrician to carry on them while attending call outs and conducting EICR's. Martindale could improve the model by having a backlight option - as always electrical switch room lighting tends not to be the best, and also within trunking and fuse boards locations.
