Megger MIT2500 2.5kV Insulation and Continuity Tester
Handle demanding insulation checks with the Megger MIT2500 2.5kV Insulation and Continuity Tester. Designed for motor, cable and industrial testing, this handheld instrument combines adjustable test voltages with insulation resistance measurement up to 200GΩ.
Choose from six fixed insulation test voltages or set a voltage to suit your application. The guard terminal helps reduce measurement errors caused by surface leakage, while the IP54 housing and supplied carry case support use between testing locations.

- Continuity testing: Automatic ranging from 0.01Ω to 1MΩ, with 20mA or 200mA test current options
- Results storage: Save more than 1000 test results and transfer data using Bluetooth
Why choose the Megger MIT2500?
✓ Match the test voltage to the equipment
The variable setting provides 1V adjustments from 50V to 999V and 10V adjustments from 1000V to 2500V.
This flexibility supports specialist applications alongside routine motor and cable checks. The display shows the measured resistance and actual test voltage together, making results easier to review.
✓ Assess insulation over time
PI and DAR functions compare insulation resistance readings taken at different times during a test. Automatic calculation helps you assess insulation behaviour without working out the ratios manually.
Timed testing also lets you run a measurement for a selected duration.
✓ Keep useful records
Store measurements for later review and use Bluetooth to transfer results to compatible software. The MIT2500 supports CertSuite Asset for managing test records and reporting; this software requires a separate subscription.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q1: Can the MIT2500 measure a 2500V supply?
A. No. The 2500V rating refers to its insulation test output. Voltage measurement is limited to 600V AC/DC.
Q2: Is the 200GΩ range available at every test voltage?
A. No. The maximum range depends on the selected voltage. For example, the 50V setting measures up to 10GΩ, while the 1000V and 2500V settings reach 200GΩ.
Q3: What does the guard terminal do?
A. It diverts unwanted surface leakage currents away from the insulation measurement, helping reduce errors when testing equipment or cables with surface contamination.
Q4: Are rechargeable batteries and a charger included?
A. No. Six AA alkaline batteries are supplied. NiMH rechargeable batteries and the compatible Megger charging kit are optional accessories.
Q5: Why might a test above 1000V be inhibited?
A. The MIT2500 prevents testing above 1000V when circuit capacitance exceeds 15nF and displays a HI-CAP warning. This limit matters when choosing a tester for capacitive loads such as cables.
