Engineer using the Testo 515 EX combination leak detector

testo 515 Ex Key Features:

  • High sensitivity: detects leak rates down to 1 g/year in High+ mode.
  • Rapid leak tracing: response and recovery times under two seconds.
  • Flexible reach: a robust gooseneck probe helps access confined areas.
  • Clear visual feedback: colour display with numeric, bar-graph and trend views.
  • Multiple alerts: visual, audible and vibration alarms help draw attention to leaks.
  • Adaptable detection: interchangeable sensors support flammable gas and refrigerant applications.

Why choose the testo 515 Ex?

Choose the Gas kit for flammable gas applications, the Refrigeration kit for refrigerant leak checks, or the combined kit when your workload includes both. This gives you a clear starting point while leaving room to expand your detector’s capability later.

The trend display helps you follow changes during leak tracing, while rechargeable power and an eight-hour battery life support everyday servicing. Zone 2 ATEX certification makes the testo 515 Ex relevant to applications requiring this level of explosion protection.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q1: Do all three kits include both sensors?

A. Only the Gas & Refrigeration kit, product code 0563 0515, includes both. The other kits include the sensor shown in the table above.

Q2: Can I add another sensor later?

A. Yes. Compatible gas and refrigerant sensors are available separately, allowing you to expand a single-sensor kit.

Q3: Does the Refrigeration kit detect R290?

A. Yes. Its supplied refrigerant sensor detects R290 (propane), alongside the other listed refrigerant groups.

Note: Be sure to check the official datasheet before buying, and the user manual before using any test equipment. Need training? Just reach out - we’re happy to help.
