Chauvin Arnoux CA6240 Micro-Ohmmeter - Wide Measurement Range
The Chauvin Arnoux CA6240 is contained in a tough IP53 “leak-proof” enclosure suitable for the most demanding measurement conditions, combining simple, safe and fast operation with highly accurate results at a selection of test currents from 10mA up to 10A.
Suitable for deployment on-site, in the workshop or in the laboratory, the CA6240 is used for a variety of low resistance measurement applications. These include general bond testing, circuit breaker and switch contact resistance, earth continuity, weld quality, metallised surface condition and graphite electrode applications.
Ergonomic, lightweight and compact the CA6240 has a wide measurement range from 1µΩ to 400Ω, utilising a 4 wire Kelvin method to eliminate test lead and contact resistance, with results displayed on an easy to read large back-lit LCD. Selectable automatic polarity reversal of the measurement current eliminates the effects of stray or induced interference voltages.
In automatic measurement mode a test will commence as soon as continuity is established between the 2 measurement points, with consecutive tests automatically started by simply moving to the next test point and re-stabilising a connection. Each measurement result is stored in memory, without the need for any key presses, for later recall to the display or download to a PC utilising the included software.
The Chauvin Arnoux CA6240 is powered by internal rechargeable batteries and can perform approximately 850 individual 10A tests, or over 5000 10mA tests, on one charge. A rapid charging mode ensures the battery is able to be recharged to 90% of its capacity in 3 hours.
The CA6240 is protected against accidental connection to a live supply up to 500v and will prevent a test being accidentally performed in this situation.
